Aeon's End has many expansion sets adding new cards, breach mages, nemeses, and mechanics. Releases are organized into waves; each wave starts with one standalone large box release and is then followed by 1-3 small box expansions. Small box expansions require a standalone set to play, although they can be mixed with standalone sets from different waves.
1st Wave[]
Standalone The first in the series, Aeon's End introduces the core mechanics of the series. |
| |
The Depths |
Expansion The breach mages face terrors from deeper parts of the world. This set introduces the first dual spell, a powerful spell that occupies two breaches simultaneously. |
|
The Nameless |
Expansion Ancient and strange Nameless draw near to Gravehold, challenging the mages and players with new enemies that require careful attention and timing. This set includes a second dual spell. |
|
2nd Wave[]
Standalone A large expansion adding more variety to the core set. This set features harder fights, and is a good place to go to for greater challenges. Some mages use custom breaches and tokens. Many spells give constant effects while prepped, and gain extra conditional effects when cast. |
| |
The Void |
Expansion Cruel new creatures attack Gravehold, and some things thought to be left in the past return. This set provides powerful new tools, including the first 8 costing relic and the LINK spell keyword. Two LINK spells may be prepped to the same breach, allowing for more firepower ready at a time. |
|
The Outer Dark |
Expansion Two more ancient nemeses approach Gravehold, capable of blocking mages from using their powerful charge abilities. This set includes two very unique mages, one of which plays with a single breach. The spells are all high cost with additional conditional effects that, if used properly, will swing a fight quickly. |
|
3rd Wave[]
Standalone This legacy version sees players building their own custom mages over the 7 game campaign, choosing and upgrading unique abilities and cards. Players also choose what cards are available from the supply each game, and which cards are locked away for the rest of the campaign. The nemeses have tricks of their own, improving and upgrading game to game depending on the players' choices. Most content from this set is compatible with the rest of Aeon's End and can be played with outside of the campaign. However, it is noted that some supply cards are imbalanced outside of Legacy. |
| |
Buried Secrets |
Expansion This is a small set containing mostly supply cards. These cards make further use of the new mechanics introduced in Aeon's End Legacy, but are compatible with all Aeon's End content. The set includes all tokens required for the new mechanics. |
|
4th Wave[]
Standalone This large set introduces many new mechanics and cards, as well as a new gamemode. Spells with the ECHO keyword are cast twice from a breach, and relics with the ATTACH keyword are attached to breaches, adding effects when spells are cast from those breaches. Many of the new mages include innovative new mechanics using custom cards, breaches, and tokens. The Expedition Mode allows multiple games to be linked together, rewarding players with new Treasure cards, which provide permanent bonuses during a game. |
